If you’ve looked in the mirror lately and struggled to see the woman you were before the vows, this is for you. The Woman Behind the Wife is a transformative 8-week curriculum designed by Dr. Kimberly R. Mayes, LCSW.
This is a space at Essence Therapy & Wellness Center for women to peel back the layers of marital roles and rediscover the individual within. Whether you’ve been married 2 years or 20, your identity matters independent of your household.
This isn't a group about how to be a "better" wife. This is a space to be a better YOU.
We’re Diving Into:
Deconstructing the "Strong Black Woman" script
Reclaiming your personal passions and "useless" play
Setting sacred boundaries without the guilt
Real, raw sisterhood with women who truly get it
Please Note:
Florida, Georgia & Texas clients only
Once you register, the group facilitator will email you group details, intake documents, policies & login information
The group will meet once a week starting 7/15/26
Group sessions will be 1 1/2 hour
Once the group begins, the group will remain closed to new attendees. Attendees who will like to join group sessions after 7/15/26, will be placed on a wait list for the upcoming group session
Group payment is due in full prior to group sessions starting
NO REFUNDS will be issued once group begins on 7/15/26, even if a session is missed
