Absolutely! This group is not a space for marital complaining or divorce preparation, it is a space for identity reclamation. It is incredibly common for women in loving, healthy marriages to still lose touch with their personal hobbies, dreams, & individual identity under the weight of daily domestic routines. This group is for any married woman who wants to ensure she remains a whole, thriving individual inside of her partnership.

While casual spaces are wonderful for socializing, this circle is a structured clinical environment facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Dr. Mayes utilizes evidence-based practices to help you gently deconstruct deep-seated cultural scripts, like the "Strong Black Woman" schema, & implement practical boundary-setting tools. During group, you can take off the "mask" completely, knowing the space is confidential, clinically grounded, & entirely focused on your psychological wellness.
-
A "closed group" means that once our 8-week journey begins, no new members are allowed to join. This ensures maximum emotional safety, privacy, & deep cohesion among the women in the group. Because consistency is vital to the group dynamic, we ask that you commit to attending all 8 sessions. Missed sessions cannot be refunded or made up, as your seat is exclusively reserved for you for the duration of the program.
-
No, this support group is a psychoeducational & process-oriented space designed to supplement your personal growth, not replace individual clinical care. While the group is therapeutic & led by a licensed clinical professional, it focuses on the shared experience of identity reclamation within marriage. If you are navigating acute trauma, severe depression, or active marital crisis, we highly recommend engaging in individual or couples therapy alongside or prior to joining this support group.
